Japanese company deploys a control room with 33 flat and curved displays

With annual revenues of approximately USD 15 billion, Shimizu Corporation is a leading architecture and civil engineering company in Japan, ranking among the country’s top five contractors and the top twenty worldwide.
The company installed a large-scale video wall to modernize its Smart Control Center (SCC), located at its headquarters in central Tokyo. The system enables detailed monitoring—using data from multiple sources—of the construction progress of three new skyscrapers currently under development in the Japanese capital.
The new video wall, configured with 33 LG 55-inch displays, supports a wide range of applications. These include real-time monitoring of construction sites through networked video cameras, visualization of floor plans and project progress, document display, videoconferencing, and presentations.
Finding a video wall solution that was both technically and commercially optimized posed a significant challenge. The system needed to support a high number of input and output sources (up to 4K60), while also offering flexible content management and control—without requiring extensive external controller programming.
The video wall consists of flat and curved LG 55-inch displays, arranged in an 11×3 configuration that spans the left and right walls of the SCC.
Graphic configurations were carefully adjusted to ensure accurate bezel correction across different display models (flat and curved). Although these displays offer the same active viewing area, they feature slightly different vertical alignments and bezel dimensions.
As the three skyscrapers rise over the Tokyo skyline, all building-related elements are now integrated into a centralized control room, delivering a vast amount of data and information—from live on-site camera feeds to logistics and operational data.
